Buenos Aires & Iguazu in 7 Days

Arrival at Ezeiza International Airport. Our team meets you in the arrivals hall and transfers you to your hotel by private vehicle; the drive into the centre takes 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic.
The rest of the day is free. If you land in the morning, a good first contact with the city is walking down to Puerto Madero and crossing the Puente de la Mujer, or heading up Florida street to Plaza San Martín. For dinner, a neighbourhood parrilla is worth far more than a hotel restaurant.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure at 09:00 for the half-day city tour. We start at Plaza de Mayo, with the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where San Martín is buried, then follow Avenida de Mayo to the Congress building.
The route continues through San Telmo, with its cobbled streets and antique shops, and La Boca, the old port district, with Caminito street and its painted sheet-metal façades. After the converted docks of Puerto Madero we head north to Recoleta and Palermo, including a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, home to the city's most striking mausoleums, among them the Duarte family vault with the grave of Eva Perón.
Free afternoon. In the evening you can add the tango dinner show as an optional extra.

A free day. Some ideas depending on your interests: the guided tour of Teatro Colón, MALBA for Latin American art, the El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookshop inside a former theatre, the design shops and cafés of Palermo Soho, or the Defensa street market in San Telmo if your free day falls on a Sunday.
Alternatively you can add an estancia day: 110 km from Buenos Aires, in San Antonio de Areco, with a criollo asado, a display of gaucho horsemanship and a ride through the fields. This full-day option should be requested when booking.

Breakfast and transfer to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, the city-centre airport, for the flight to Puerto Iguazú. The flight takes about 1 hour 50 minutes, and on the descent you can see the red soil of Misiones and an unbroken carpet of forest from the window.
Meet-and-greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon we visit the Three Borders Landmark, the terrace above the confluence of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers and the only spot from which Brazil and Paraguay are both visible on the opposite banks. The rest of the afternoon is free; Puerto Iguazú is a small town and its centre is easily walked.

Early breakfast and a full day in Iguazu National Park. We enter as the gates open, take the Ecological Jungle Train to the Devil's Throat station and walk the 1,100 metres of catwalk over the river to the balcony above the 80-metre drop.
We then walk the Upper Circuit: 1,750 flat metres with no steps, running directly above the falls. After a lunch break inside the park comes the Lower Circuit, with around 300 steps down to the foot of the cascades, through the spray of Salto Bosetti and out opposite San Martín Island.
Altogether you cover 7 to 8 kilometres across three independent circuits, so any of them can be skipped. Coatis, capuchin monkeys, toucans and clouds of butterflies are common along the paths; feeding them is prohibited. Back at the hotel around 17:30.

Free morning. If you stamped your ticket on the way out yesterday, you can re-enter the park with a 50% discount on the second consecutive day and repeat the circuits you liked most. Other options are the Gran Aventura boat ride, the Brazilian side, which gives the panoramic view of the whole set of falls, or the Güirá Oga wildlife rescue centre. If you cross into Brazil, take your passport and check entry requirements for your nationality in advance.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport and flight back to Buenos Aires. Meet-and-greet at Aeroparque and transfer to your hotel. Free evening: dinner in Palermo or San Telmo is a good way to close the trip.

Breakfast at the hotel and free time according to your flight schedule. Check-out is usually between 10:00 and 11:00; you can leave your luggage at reception and take one last walk.
At the agreed time, transfer to Ezeiza International Airport. For international flights we recommend leaving the hotel at least three hours in advance, as the drive from the centre can take an hour in traffic. End of our services.
