Arrival at Lisbon Airport and meet-and-greet with our representative. After a welcome, we transfer by private vehicle to the hotel. Once you have checked in and rested, we head out for an orientation walk around Baixa and the Rossio area: broad squares, historic buildings and trams going up and down give you a first feel for the city. If time allows, we continue to Praça do Comércio to see the Tagus River and take a short stroll through Chiado. Evening at leisure to dine in a local restaurant or simply enjoy a coffee while watching Lisbon’s lively atmosphere.
After breakfast we spend the morning discovering Lisbon’s historic quarters in more depth. From Baixa we make our way up to Alfama, one of the oldest neighbourhoods: narrow lanes, laundry hanging from balconies, small squares and viewpoints over the Tagus reveal everyday life in the city. We then head to Belém, closely linked to the Age of Discoveries. From the outside we admire the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower and stop for photos by the Monument to the Discoveries. There will be time, if you wish, to taste the famous pastéis de Belém. We then return to the city centre and the rest of the afternoon is free to keep exploring, visit a museum, enjoy a boat tour on the Tagus or join an optional dinner with fado.
Breakfast at the hotel (depending on flight schedule) and free time in Lisbon. You may use these last hours for some final shopping in Baixa, returning to a favourite viewpoint over the Tagus or visiting a museum you didn’t have time for earlier. At the agreed time, transfer to Lisbon Airport for your return flight home. End of our services, hoping that this short city break will be just the beginning of future trips to Portugal.
