Frequently Asked Questions
There is almost no shade on the Acropolis and the marble reflects the heat. That is why we start at 08:30 from June to September, with a second departure at 16:30 when the sun is already low. Bring water, a hat and sunscreen; there are refill taps at the entrance and inside the museum.
No. Your entry is booked for a fixed time slot and the guide meets you holding the tickets. You still pass a short bag check, and the site works with a visitor cap per slot, which is why the meeting time on your voucher cannot be shifted.
About 1.5 km in total with a climb of roughly 80 metres. The path is stepped and includes marble ramps polished slippery by generations of visitors, so closed shoes with a grip sole are strongly recommended and heels are not allowed on site. A lift on the north side serves visitors with reduced mobility — please tell us in advance so we can arrange access.
