Arrival at Barcelona-El Prat Airport and meet-and-greet with our representative. After a warm welcome, we drive up to Montjuïc hill by private vehicle, as the city slowly unfolds below: the harbour, the sea and the 1992 Olympic facilities create a wide panoramic view. After a few photo stops we head down to the centre and stroll along Las Ramblas, one of Barcelona’s most famous avenues. Street performers, flower stalls and the flow of people give you an immediate sense of the city’s Mediterranean energy. We then enter the Gothic Quarter, with its narrow streets, hidden squares and historic buildings. Evening at leisure to have dinner on your own or continue exploring the city centre.
After breakfast we head to the surroundings of Sagrada Familia, Barcelona’s iconic basilica. Its towers and highly detailed façades are considered one of the strongest expressions of Gaudí’s imagination; those who wish may enter the interior with advance-reservation tickets (optional). We then stroll along Passeig de Gràcia to admire from the outside modernist buildings such as Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, masterpieces by Gaudí and his contemporaries. This elegant boulevard is also one of the city’s prime shopping areas. The afternoon is free: you may join an optional visit to Park Güell, where colourful mosaics, undulating benches and panoramic views complete Gaudí’s fairy-tale world. In the evening, you might enjoy tapas in the Eixample or Gothic Quarter, or attend an optional flamenco show.
Breakfast at the hotel (depending on flight schedule) and free time in Barcelona. You may head down to Barceloneta beach for a walk by the sea, explore the designer shops of El Born or visit any museum you may have missed. At the agreed time, transfer to Barcelona-El Prat Airport for your return flight home. End of our services, hoping that this short Barcelona break will be just the beginning of future journeys across Spain.
