As soon as you leave Barcelona Airport, the soft Mediterranean breeze welcomes you. In our private vehicle we drive up towards Montjuïc hill while the city slowly unfolds at your feet: the Olympic area, the harbour, the sea… everything seems like a silent “welcome” to this new journey. Afterwards we take a short walk along La Rambla. Street painters, flower stalls, musicians… the city’s energy surrounds you from day one. In the evening you have free time to settle into your hotel and start discovering Barcelona at your own pace.
In the morning we visit Gaudí’s most iconic work: the Sagrada Familia. Even seen only from the outside, its towers twisting towards the sky silently tell the soul of Barcelona. We then dive into the Gothic Quarter, where the streets narrow, stone façades cast ancient shadows and, around the cathedral, the medieval city seems to whisper stories to the present. The afternoon is free. Those who wish can join us on an optional visit to Gaudí’s magical world in Park Güell. Colourful mosaics, wavy benches and a panoramic view over the city create an almost fairy-tale scene. At night, Barcelona’s lights invite you to keep exploring.
In the morning we leave Barcelona and take the high-speed AVE train to Madrid. Through the window, Spain’s wide plains pass by like film scenes. On arrival, the capital welcomes us with a more classical and aristocratic air. On our panoramic tour we stop at Plaza de España to see the monument to Miguel de Cervantes and, just below, Don Quixote and his faithful squire Sancho Panza, as if about to set off on a new adventure. We then head to the Templo de Debod, a genuine Egyptian temple in the very centre of Madrid. At sunset, the golden light on the stone makes you feel, for a moment, as if you were on the banks of the Nile. In the evening, lively streets, tapas bars and terraces invite you to experience Madrid at a relaxed pace.
In the morning we leave Madrid and head towards Toledo. As we approach, the view of the Tagus River embracing the walled city looks like a medieval painting. We walk along the stone streets of the Jewish Quarter, where Toledo’s multicultural essence can be felt; Christian, Muslim and Jewish traces coexist in the same urban layout, reminding us that coexistence was – and can still be – possible. In the afternoon we continue our journey to Ciudad Real, in the heart of La Mancha. Arrival and free time to rest.
As we head south, the landscape changes: the climate becomes milder and olive groves spread across the horizon. On arrival in Córdoba, the silhouette of the Mosque–Cathedral greets us in the historic centre, one of the most elegant architectural syntheses in history. Its red-and-white arches and rows of columns seem to stretch into infinity (interior or exterior visit organised according to availability and program). In the afternoon we continue to Seville. At dusk we stroll through the Barrio de Santa Cruz, famous for the scent of orange blossom, whitewashed houses, wrought-iron balconies and charming little squares. Andalusia begins to feel like a living tale.
We devote the day to Seville. We begin at one of Spain’s most emblematic spaces: Plaza de España. Its half-moon shape, bridges, ceramic decorations and central canal create a majestic, almost cinematic scene. A walk through María Luisa Park offers shade and greenery in the midst of Seville’s warm climate. We then move to the Cathedral and Giralda area; the former minaret turned bell tower is a perfect symbol of how Muslim and Christian histories intertwine in this city. The afternoon is free: you may visit the Royal Alcázar (optional), go shopping or simply wander through the old town streets. In the evening, we highly recommend an optional flamenco show to feel the heart of Andalusia through music, song and dance.
In the morning we head towards Ronda, a city built on the edge of a deep gorge. The New Bridge linking the two sides of the town offers breathtaking views, a mix of natural force and human audacity. We then visit Setenil de las Bodegas, a village literally wedged under the rocks, where houses not only lean against the stone but incorporate it into roofs and walls. It is a unique blend of rural warmth and Mediterranean light. In the afternoon we arrive in Granada and, at sunset, we go up to a viewpoint in the Albaicín to enjoy the view of the Alhambra. As the sun sets, the palace’s reddish walls turn golden, leaving an unforgettable image.
In the morning we visit the Alhambra and the Generalife gardens, often described as the last great poem of Islamic art in Europe. Courtyards, water channels, pomegranate gardens and delicate stucco work reveal the elegance of Nasrid Granada (entrances are managed by advance reservation and subject to availability). In the afternoon we transfer to Málaga Airport. As we say goodbye to Spain, you take with you not only photographs but also the stories and emotions of each city visited.
