Day 1
Arrival in Istanbul
Arrival at Istanbul Airport. Meet-and-greet by our team and private transfer to your hotel.
Depending on your flight schedule, you will have free time to rest or to take a first walk around the area: perhaps a light dinner, a Turkish tea, or simply sitting and watching the city’s rhythm. Istanbul welcomes you with the sound of ferries on the Bosphorus and the distant call to prayer. -
Day 2
Monumental Istanbul: Classic Sultanahmet
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we dive into the historic heart of the city, the Sultanahmet district.
On foot, we visit:
• The Roman Hippodrome, former stage of chariot races in Byzantine times.
• The Blue Mosque, famous for its interior tiles and six minarets (interior visit subject to prayer times).
• The majestic Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya), Istanbul’s ultimate icon, blending Byzantine and Ottoman elements.
• The Topkapi Palace (main courtyards and halls), residence of the Ottoman sultans for centuries, with privileged views over the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, time to get lost in the corridors of the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest covered markets in the world. Carpets, lamps, ceramics, jewellery and countless souvenirs create an atmospheric maze.Optional activities

Day 3
Bosphorus Cruise, Historic Districts & Bazaars
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we head to the old harbour area to embark on a Bosphorus cruise. As the boat moves along the strait, you’ll see palaces such as Dolmabahçe and Çırağan, neighbourhood mosques, fortresses and elegant wooden mansions (yalı) on both shores, with Europe on one side and Asia on the other.
After the cruise, we immerse ourselves in the aromas and colours of the Spice Bazaar (Misir Çarşısı). Teas, dried fruits, sweets and spices from all over the East line the stalls, creating a rich sensory experience.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we explore some of the historic districts along the Golden Horn, such as Fener and Balat (depending on logistics), with their colourful houses, small churches and authentic everyday atmosphere. If time and operation allow, we take the cable car up to the Pierre Loti viewpoint, for a panoramic view over the estuary and the city stretching away below.Notes for the day: The Bosphorus cruise operates on a shared scheduled boat; the route or the vessel may change in poor weather. The ride up to the Pierre Loti viewpoint depends on the time available.

Day 4
Asian Istanbul & Local Life
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we cross to the Asian side to explore everyday Istanbul.
We cross the Bosphorus and reach the Üsküdar area or head directly to Kuzguncuk, a neighbourhood of colourful houses, small local cafés and peaceful streets, where mosques, churches and synagogues co-exist side by side.
We then go up to Çamlıca Hill, one of the city’s best viewpoints, offering sweeping views of the Bosphorus, the bridges and the immense sprawl of Istanbul.
Later we move on to Kadıköy, a lively and youthful district on the Asian side, with markets, shops, street art and a bohemian atmosphere. Free time to enjoy a Turkish coffee, sample meze in a local tavern or do some more low-key shopping.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Evening at leisure: you may wish to book a traditional hamam (Turkish bath) or a dinner with views, according to your preference.Optional activities

Notes for the day: The day combines ferry and vehicle, with walking sections in Kuzguncuk and Kadıköy. Kadıköy market is at its busiest in the afternoon.

Free Time & Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your flight time, you will have some free time for last-minute shopping, a quick visit to a nearby neighbourhood, or simply a final coffee overlooking the Bosphorus.
At the agreed time, transfer to Istanbul Airport and end of our services.

- The order of the visits may change according to opening hours, traffic and the day’s operation. The content of the programme stays the same.
- Mosques require shoes to be removed and shoulders and knees covered; women are required to cover their hair. Bringing your own scarf is advisable, although the busiest mosques usually lend one at the entrance.
- Working mosques close to visitors during the five daily prayers and, in particular, around the Friday midday prayer. When a visit coincides, the commentary is given outside or the day is reordered.
- Hagia Sophia is a working mosque. Foreign visitors follow a separate tourist route through the upper galleries, while the ground floor is reserved for prayer. That route closes during the five daily prayers and, at Friday midday, for a longer period. The visiting arrangement and opening hours depend on current regulations and may change without notice; if access is restricted on the date of the visit, the monument is explained from outside.
- Museums and archaeological sites may have a weekly closing day and different summer and winter opening hours. The final itinerary is adjusted to the opening calendar in force on the travel dates.
- During the religious holidays (Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı, whose dates move with the lunar calendar) museum and shop hours change, monuments are busier, and domestic flights and roads fill up.
- The Bosphorus cruise operates on a shared scheduled boat. The route or the vessel may change because of weather and, exceptionally, the service can be suspended in rough seas.
- Much of the programme is covered on foot, on cobbled streets and slopes in Sultanahmet, Balat and the Asian shore. Moderate walking level; comfortable shoes are recommended.
- A valid passport, the visa or electronic authorisation and compliance with entry requirements are the traveller’s responsibility. They depend on nationality and should be checked well in advance.

Istanbul can be visited all year. From April to June and from September to October temperatures are mild, which suits a programme covered largely on foot. July and August are hot and humid. From December to March the weather is cold and wet, the days are short and the monuments are quieter; the Bosphorus cruise still operates, with changes of route or vessel when the weather requires them.

Are international flights included?
No. The programme starts and ends in Istanbul; international flights are booked by the client or their travel agency.
What language are the visits conducted in?
The visits included in the programme are led by a licensed English-speaking guide. Spanish is also available.
Do we go inside Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque?
Both are working mosques. Access to the interior depends on prayer times and on the regulations in force that day. When entry is not possible, the commentary is given from outside and the order of the day is adjusted.
What should I wear to visit the mosques?
Shoulders and knees covered, and shoes that are easy to slip off, as footwear must be removed at the entrance. Women are asked to cover their hair; bringing your own scarf is advisable, although the busiest mosques usually lend one.
How much walking is there each day?
The Sultanahmet and Asian-side days are walking tours of several hours on cobbled streets and some slopes. The level is moderate and no special fitness is required, but comfortable shoes are.
Is the Bosphorus cruise private?
No. It is a scheduled cruise on a shared boat, as per the day’s operation. The route or the vessel may change if weather conditions require it.
Do I need a visa to enter Turkey?
It depends on your nationality. The visa or electronic authorisation, and passport validity, are the traveller’s responsibility; requirements should be checked in advance with the relevant Turkish consular office.
Can the programme be extended with other cities?
Yes. It is designed to work as a stand-alone stay or as the opening or closing leg of a longer tour of Turkey. Tell us your dates and the cities you would like to add and we will prepare the quotation.
Booking conditions
- Deposit
- 30% of the total when the booking is confirmed. For bookings made 30 days or less before departure, the full amount at confirmation.
- Balance
- The remaining 70%, no later than 31 days before departure.
- Payment methods
- Bank transfer or credit card. Card payments carry a 3% surcharge; charges applied by the issuing bank are borne by the client.
- Cancellations
- More than 90 days before departure: handling fee only, plus penalties on services already issued · 89–61 days: 25% · 60–31 days: 50% · 30 days or less and no-show: 100%. Reductions in places follow the same scale. Refunds within 10–14 business days of written cancellation.
