A 7-day, 6-night programme for travellers who want the essentials of Turkey, combining Istanbul and Cappadocia at a comfortable pace. In Istanbul the route covers the historic peninsula with Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and Topkapi Palace, plus a Bosphorus cruise and a panoramic look at the modern city and the Taksim area.
A domestic flight then leads to Cappadocia for two full days among fairy chimneys, rock-cut churches and troglodyte villages: Göreme, Avanos, Uçhisar and an underground city are part of the route, and a sunrise balloon flight can be added as an optional activity. The programme includes coordinated transfers, the domestic flights, six nights of hotels and the visits with a licensed guide. Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Istanbul
Arrival at Istanbul Airport (IST or SAW) and meet-and-greet with our representative. After a short welcome briefing, transfer by private vehicle to your hotel. Time to check in and rest after the flight.
Depending on your arrival time, your guide may take you on a short orientation walk around the hotel area to show you tram/metro stops, exchange offices and nearby restaurants. Evening at leisure to enjoy your first dinner in the city and feel the atmosphere of domes, minarets and the distant Bosphorus. -
Day 2
Classical Istanbul: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi
Breakfast at the hotel. We head to the historic peninsula, the very heart of Istanbul. Our first stop is the former Hippodrome square, where the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpent Column and the Walled Column still stand as witnesses of Byzantine chariot races and ceremonies.
We then continue to the Blue Mosque (interior/exterior visit depending on current regulations), famous for its blue tiles and six minarets, before crossing over to Hagia Sophia, one of the city’s most iconic monuments, encapsulating centuries of Byzantine and Ottoman history.
In the afternoon, we visit Topkapi Palace (entrance according to the program), residence of the Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. Its courtyards, chambers and terraces overlooking the Bosphorus help you imagine life at the imperial court. There will be free time for lunch during the day. Depending on time and opening hours, we may also include a short visit to the Grand Bazaar or the Spice Bazaar.Notes for the day: A walking day around the historic peninsula, on cobbled streets and some slopes. Day 3
Bosphorus and Two Continents
After breakfast we head to the Golden Horn area and the Spice Bazaar, where tea, nuts and Turkish delight shops recall Istanbul’s long trading history between East and West.
We then embark on a Bosphorus cruise, sailing between the European and Asian shores. From the water you can admire palaces such as Dolmabahçe, wooden mansions, fortresses and the great suspension bridges linking both continents, while your guide shares stories and anecdotes.
In the afternoon, depending on the program, we may cross to the Asian side for a short walk in Üsküdar or Kadıköy, or explore the modern heart of the city around Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue, with its cafés, shops and historic buildings.Notes for the day: The Bosphorus cruise runs on a shared scheduled boat; the route or the vessel may change in poor weather.

Day 4
Flight to Cappadocia and First Visits
Early breakfast or breakfast box and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Cappadocia (Kayseri or Nevşehir). After a flight of about 1–1.5 hours, arrival and private transfer to your hotel in the region.
Once settled in, we spend the rest of the day discovering the northern part of Cappadocia (order may vary): panoramic views from the Uçhisar castle area, a visit to Göreme Open Air Museum (entrance according to the program), with its rock-cut churches and frescoes, and a stop in Avanos on the banks of the Kızılırmak River, where you may watch a traditional pottery demonstration. We then continue to Devrent and possibly Paşabağ valleys, famous for their fairy chimneys and rock formations.

Day 5
Full Day in Cappadocia and Optional Balloon
For those who wish, there is the possibility of a hot-air balloon flight before sunrise (optional, subject to weather conditions and prior availability). The flight passes over the valleys and fairy chimneys of Cappadocia.
After breakfast at the hotel, we continue our exploration of the region. On the southern or combined route we visit one of Cappadocia’s underground cities (Kaymakli or Derinkuyu, according to the program), an impressive maze of tunnels and chambers dug into the rock. We then enjoy panoramas of valleys and viewpoints with pigeon houses carved into the cliffs, with time for short walks and photos.
During the day we stop for lunch in a local restaurant (payable on the spot). In the afternoon, a short demonstration of carpet weaving or local handicrafts may be included before returning to the hotel. This is your last night in Cappadocia to enjoy the region’s unique atmosphere.Optional activities

Day 6
Return to Istanbul and Free Time
After breakfast and depending on your flight schedule, you may have a little free time in Cappadocia for a last walk or a few final photos before saying goodbye to the landscape. Transfer to Kayseri or Nevşehir airport and domestic flight back to Istanbul.
On arrival, transfer to your hotel and the rest of the day at leisure. You may choose to do some last-minute shopping at the Grand Bazaar or Spice Bazaar, or take a stroll through areas such as Karaköy and Galata. This is your last night in Istanbul – a perfect opportunity for a Bosphorus-view dinner or a relaxed evening in the city centre.Notes for the day: Domestic flight back to Istanbul. Free time in Cappadocia in the morning depends on the flight time.

Day 7
Departure from Istanbul
Breakfast at the hotel (depending on flight time) and final free moments in Istanbul. You may take a short farewell walk in your favourite neighbourhood or simply relax at the hotel. At the agreed time, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
After 7 days between Istanbul and Cappadocia, you leave Turkey not only with photos, but with stories, flavours and landscapes that will stay with you.

Operational notes
- The order of the visits may change according to opening hours, traffic and the day’s operation. The content of the programme stays the same.
- Domestic flights are issued in economy class and the checked and cabin baggage allowance depends on the airline and the fare issued; the exact allowance is shown on the ticket. Schedules may be rearranged and the day’s programme follows the confirmed flight.
- Mosques require shoes to be removed and shoulders and knees covered; women are required to cover their hair. Bringing your own scarf is advisable, although the busiest mosques usually lend one at the entrance.
- Working mosques close to visitors during the five daily prayers and, in particular, around the Friday midday prayer. When a visit coincides, the commentary is given outside or the day is reordered.
- Hagia Sophia is a working mosque. Foreign visitors follow a separate tourist route through the upper galleries, while the ground floor is reserved for prayer. That route closes during the five daily prayers and, at Friday midday, for a longer period. The visiting arrangement and opening hours depend on current regulations and may change without notice; if access is restricted on the date of the visit, the monument is explained from outside.
- Museums and archaeological sites may have a weekly closing day and different summer and winter opening hours. The final itinerary is adjusted to the opening calendar in force on the travel dates.
- During the religious holidays (Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı, whose dates move with the lunar calendar) museum and shop hours change, monuments are busier, and domestic flights and roads fill up.
- The Cappadocia balloon flight is an optional activity and is not part of the programme. Flights are confirmed before dawn and are cancelled by the operator for wind or visibility, so booking it for the first available sunrise is advisable. The programme does not hold a spare morning in reserve; if the transfer or return-flight schedule allows, the next sunrise can be attempted, and the quotation states the real margin for each departure.
- Cappadocia’s underground cities are visited through narrow, low-ceilinged tunnels with sections where you have to stoop. They are not suitable for anyone with claustrophobia or reduced mobility.
- In Cappadocia you walk on uneven dirt paths with gradients, and in Istanbul on cobbled streets and slopes. Moderate walking level; closed shoes throughout the programme.
- The programme includes explanatory stops at craft workshops (carpets, leather, ceramics or jewellery), which are standard on this kind of tour. The visit is informative and any purchase is entirely voluntary.
- A valid passport, the visa or electronic authorisation and compliance with entry requirements are the traveller’s responsibility. They depend on nationality and should be checked well in advance.

From April to June and from September to October both regions are at their best: mild temperatures in Istanbul and clear days in Cappadocia. Cappadocia’s winter is cold and snow is common between December and March — the snowy landscape is among the most photographed in the country, but mornings are bitter — while summer is dry and hot, with visits concentrated early and late in the day. Balloon flights operate year-round and depend on wind and visibility; they are confirmed before dawn in any season.

Which airports are used for the domestic flights?
Flights normally operate from Istanbul (IST or SAW) to Kayseri (ASR) or Nevşehir (NAV) and back. The exact combination of airports and times is confirmed at booking, subject to availability.
What baggage can I take on the domestic flights?
The checked and cabin baggage allowance depends on the airline and the fare issued, and is shown on the ticket. It is worth staying within it, as excess baggage is paid at the airport.
Do we go inside Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque?
Both are working mosques. Access to the interior depends on prayer times and on the regulations in force that day; when entry is not possible, the commentary is given from outside and the order of the day is adjusted.
Do I need a visa to enter Turkey?
It depends on your nationality: some travellers need an e-visa or a consular visa, others are exempt for a limited period. The visa and passport validity are the traveller’s responsibility; check current requirements before travelling.
Can the programme be extended to other regions?
Yes. This is the programme most often extended with Ephesus and Pamukkale or with a stay on the coast. Tell us your dates and the regions you would like to add.
